Working from Knowledge
When designing or laying-out graphics for a printing press, it is commonly expected to receive printed colors that match what is seen on the computer screen. Unfortunately, due to default designer software settings, most programs automatically display graphics using Red, Green and Blue (RGB Color) to produce all visual colors. Whereas printers use a mixture of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black (CMYK Color) for printed visual colors. RGB and CMYK colors are two very different color modes that usually result in different shades of the same color.
Our Production Format: The Industry Standard
PDF (Portable Document Format) is our standard, as well as preferred, file format for all customer-created documents. The PDF format allows your files to be viewed by virtually any computer or device regardless of the hardware or software used to create them. With our commercial print technology, we are able to efficiently utilize your PDF documents throughout our prep and print stages.
A product’s finished dimension is the actual size once completed in production. During the production process, your files are placed multiple times across industrial sheets of paper called ‘Parent Sheets’. From there your files are printed and cut down to their finished dimensions.
Design With Margins
It is crucial for files to be designed with the proper margins in order to avoid the possibility of trimming off any critical content. Most clients believe that as long as all elements of a design are laid out within the finished dimension then the finished product will look just the same. Unfortunately, there are safety margins and bleed margins that need to be accounted for during the layout of your documents.
Many of our corporate accounts work with a big print shop for their annual 100,000 catalog order. However, they find that the big shops are not dollar wise for shorter runs applications.
760 Print works with these accounts to provide a more cost-effective solution while delivering quicker production times for these projects.
